Itinerary 

 

Day 1: Arrival in Paro and heading to Thimphu

The flight offers you breathtaking aerial views before landing this beautiful Himalayan Kingdom. You can witness the view of the top of the world – Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak of the world. Other small peaks, glaciers, hills, Rivers, landscapes are another cool vista of your fly.  

Finally you will be welcomed at Paro International airport and soon we start the visit in and around Paro Valley after a short fresh in the hotel at Paro. Paro is the typical beautiful valley of Bhutan. And in the evening we drive an hour and half to Thimphu. Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu.

Day 2: Sightseeing of Thimphu

Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan. Thimphu, unlike other places of Bhutan, has a mixed culture since the people from all over the country have made their stay in the capital city. We will visit the Memorial Stupa which reflects the finest tradition of Buddhist architecture. Built in the 12th century- Changangkha monastery, 17th century Tashichhodzong are other attractions of Thimphu. You will also be rewarded by the short trips to the Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Academy, Academy of Art and Craft, the site of the world’s Largest Buddha statue, and the Thimphu viewpoint at Sangaygang. We will have a chance to witness the traditional archery game in the capital city.  Overnight stay in the hotel at Thimphu.

Day 3: Punakha / Wangdue Sightseeing

After your breakfast we head towards Punakha-Wangdue valley. The valley is very famous as the ancient capital of Bhutan where the agrarian rural life is best exemplified by terraced rice fields and villages teeming with traditional farm houses.

The trip goes through Dochula pass (3,100m) in about 45 minutes of drive. This is the best view point to see the beautiful snow-capped mountains. The road goes further descending through roadsides filled with rhododendrons, bamboo groves, other alpine flowers of all shades and hues. You can see various flora and fauna on your way.

After reaching at the valley, we will visit the Temple of Fertility in Lobesa. The temple is popular for blessing infertile couples with children. 17th century monastery-fortress Punakha Dzong is the main attraction of the day which is the ancient capital of the historic Bhutan.  The monument is spectacularly built between two rivers and appears like a giant ship sailing on a huge mass of water. 17th century monastery-palace, Wangduephodrang Dzong is another attraction of the day. Overnight in Hotel in Punakha.

Day 4: Taktshang Monastery Hiking

After your breakfast, we drive back to Paro. After reaching the hotel we start hiking to the famous Taktshang Monastery. The monastery is also known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery. One and half house of hike will lead you to reach to the viewpoint.  We can have a tea/coffee at View Point Cafeteria. We will explore the Taktshang Monastery and walk back to the road after having lunch at cafeteria.

We will also visit the Kichu Temple. This is one of the 108 temples built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo.

In the late afternoon, we will have a special dinner with a local family in a traditional farm house which is the best opportunity to taste an authentic Bhutanese dishes along with local alcohol. Overnight at your hotel in the Paro.

Day 5: Departure Day

Today is your last day in Bhutan. After the breakfast we will escort you to the Paro International Airport for your departure. Have a wonderful journey.
